Meet Jacob & James: The Maine Coons!

Over the past few weeks, I had the absolute joy of caring for two truly unforgettable characters - Jacob and James, a pair of Maine Coon brothers who completely stole my heart.

If you've never met a Maine Coon in person, let me tell you: photos don’t do them justice. You really can’t appreciate their size until you’re stood next to one - these boys are majestic. With their thick, luxurious coats, lion-like ruffs, and that signature plumed tail, they look like miniature lions... but with the temperament of teddy bears.

From the moment I stepped into their world, James was ready to soak up all the fuss. Cuddles? Yes, please. Grooming time? Front and centre. With their long, flowing coats, daily grooming wasn’t just a pampering session - it was essential. Luckily, both boys absolutely loved the attention. Jacob was a little more reserved at first, eyeing me cautiously from his perch, but it didn’t take long for him to warm up. Before I knew it, he was purring away under my brush, leaning in for strokes and soaking up the love just like his brother.

One of the funniest parts of the day was treat time. These two had it down. Without fail, when the treat packet rustled, they’d appear like clockwork - sat in perfect position, eyes wide, ready and waiting. Honestly, it felt like I was part of a well-rehearsed theatre act. And here’s a fun fact: James is actually TikTok famous! That’s right - this gentle giant has gone viral with nearly 1 million views, and it’s easy to see why. Between his size, fluff, and charisma, he’s born for the spotlight.

Spending time with Jacob and James was a genuine pleasure. They were affectionate, funny, and so full of personality. Whether it was brushing sessions, lazy sunbathing sprawls, or those adorable treat routines, every moment was golden.

I truly loved getting to know them - and I already can’t wait for our next visit. Until then, Jacob and James, keep being your magnificent, loveable selves. 💛🐾
